Château de Langeais
Château de Langeais
Like a fortified and strong fortress, the castle of Langeais with its high wall and thick towers. It has a crenellated battlement and a drawbridge. Inside, however, every visitor feels immediately displaced to the 15th century. He finds true treasures of old furniture and beautiful colored tapestries.
The castle was built in 1465 by Louis XI. It was supposed to protect the Tourain from the attacks of the Duke of Brittany. But just here, then, the connection of Brittany to the kingdom was signed in 1491 by the marriage of barely 14 year old Anna of Brittany with Charles VIII.
